Church Practices
The basis of the brief notes on this page is found in Acts 2:41-42 describing the early church in Jerusalem
Evangelism
We "preach" the Word and like the early apostles share the message with others using many different approaches
Baptism
We baptise believers by immersion. This baptism symbolises a person's "death" to their old pre-Christian life and "rising" to a new life of service to Christ and others.
Teaching
We believe in lifelong learning of the Bible and the Christian faith.
We have weekly Bible studies, and on most Sunday evenings the sermon is of a teaching character.
Communion
We remember the Lord Jesus in a communion service, taking together the bread and wine of remembrance, at least weekly as the first service on a Sunday, and also occasionally at other times. All believers are welcome to share with us in remembering the Lord.
Prayer
We have a weekly time devoted to praying for one another, for the spread of the Gospel, for the persecuted church around the world, and other needs of which we're aware.
Fellowship
In addition to fellowship in worship, leaning and prayer we have informal fellowship times after most services and a monthly lunch.
Mutual Support
In the New Testament church people were generous in supporting their brothers and sisters in Christ. We seek to be a caring church.
